About a boy and his Wonderlic...

I've decided to start writing again after a 3-year hiatus, this is my first attempt in quite some time. I won't link every time I have an entry, but wanted to put this out there so people know it will be active again. RSS it or something, I don't know...

Shooter Now:
DON'T PRINT THAT

- Hastings native Guttercar, who scored a 36 on his pre-draft Wonderlic test, is projected to be a low to mid second round pick in the upcoming draft. A little birdie says don't be surprised if the Vikings try to trade-up to get the third down back.

OVERHEARD

Vikings coach Brad Childress, who was walking into Winter Park: "I think I might have left my lights on... wait, no. I'm pretty sure I turned them off."

A quick follow-up on this. I signed an offer letter for the job today, so I'm the new Technical Services Coordinator for Aqua Star, a frozen seafood company. I was joking with the HR person today about my scores, and she seemed very impressed that Steve Young and John Elway were in my rear-view.

Back to the life of a workin' stiff on April 26...

You guys sell Whale? I could go for some Whale.

So are you going to give us a sample question? Which ones were you mulling over after the interview?

Is it like working at a brewery? All the chum you can drink?

Jottings

The Human Man, the two-sport star from Hastings, is projected to go in the first round of the NFL draft along with every other graduating senior on the University of Minnesota football team. After running the 40-yard dash in 7.4 and 7.9 seconds at the NFL Combine, he improved on those numbers at his pro day, running a 2.8 against the wind, with a scout from the Wellington Hurricanes in attendance.

Guttercar (Hastings) is taking a year off from professional football to sign with Seattle-based Aqua Star. One of my close personal friends, George Steinbrenner, has told me that J. Ryan is considering moving up to Puget Sound to produce a reality show about Guttercar's job, tentatively called "The 19th Deadliest Catch".

Also, former U of M Athletic Director Paul Giel, "Pinky" McNamara, and Jake Mauer are playing golf somewhere right now.

Sid Hartman can be heard weekdays on WCCO AM-830 at 6:40, 7:40 and 8:40 a.m.
