In what sounds like a post-modern sarcasm, MTV launches a website hosting loads of classic music videos...This really could be the end of my free time.

OK, this is pretty sweet. But why is Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing" the top viewed video? I've seen it a thousand times, and it has some nostalgic value, but come on -- this video kinda sucks. I always thought MTV was determined to make this video a hit because the song mentions MTV in it. It was like a shout-out to itself before shout-outs even existed. And Mark Knoppler was like McCain-old when the video came out in the '80s. No one likes old people.
Just had to get that off my chest.....breathing normal now. Good, good.

So THAT is what a music video is. I must have forgotten with all of the "quality programming" that MTV has been doing over the past few years...

If my memory serves me right, Money for Nothing was the very first video shown on MTV when MTV debuted. That probably has something to do with why it is the most viewed video.
