I miss the camaraderie of HS team sports. (Yeah yeah, I know I was a swimmer, but we were still a team. One needs only to watch the men's 4x400 freestyle relay form the Olympics this past year to know I'm not lying.) These kids, even if they lose will have something to think back on and smile about when they're in their space nursing homes.

Pogo is the new extreme sport here in the bay area, as proven by this excellent video that my buddies made. They pretty much improvised all of the commentary and mixed in the songs and stunts to make a pretty funny short film. Cuss words are abundant for those of you at work.

A quick video of a 13 year old Canadian hockey player that has some awesome shootout skills. The background music is lame, so ditch the headphones for this one.

The 13-year-old first baseman for Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, stands an imposing 6-foot-8 and weighs 256 pounds. Aaron Durley is only 13 but is already four inches taller and weighs 26 pounds more than his favorite player David Ortiz. My nephew is doomed.

Roughly once a month, the NBA cuts 31 checks to NBA teams as revenue from its multibillion-dollar national television contract. There are only 30 NBA franchises, so who gets the extra check? The money goes to brothers Ozzie and Dan Silna, co-owners of the long-forgotten ABA team, the Spirits of St. Louis.

A pretty good explanation of Cricket for the American audience. I have never understood anything about this game, other than the brief synopsis given by Jerry Seinfeld in an AmEx commercial, so this is a little helpful.
